Now for the second part of the story. Several weeks passed, that turned into months, and still no check. He and his family tried to contact the company that was supposed to pay out, Par 3 Fun Stop, with no luck.

KARE 11 spoke last week with the company’s owner, John Schierman of Chaska, by phone who first told us there would be no check. According to Schierman, the Hole-Official never saw that hole-in-one and wouldn’t sign an affidavit saying she did. Though he wouldn’t give us her name, we found her.

“I was freaking out with the whole family. I was very excited for him. It was very cooll. I’ve never seen anybody hit a hole-in-one before, so it was cool,” said Herman.

Taylor is a golfer from Sarasota, Florida who also nabbed a hole-in-one at tournament with Par 3 Fun Stop. She was supposed to collect $2,500 for her shot, but same story, no check.

“Our Mystic Creek Club started doing some checking, our pro there, and they couldn’t get any answers either, so at that point, we knew there was a problem,” said Taylor.

Par 3 Fun Stop has been operating in Florida earlier in 2011. A former employee tells KARE 11 there is another $2,500 unpaid hole-in-one winner, as well as other smaller prizes, that people never received. So, we went back to John Schierman to get more answers.
p

“You were telling these people that they had to sign an affidavit and clearly there was no affidavit necessary,” we say to him. “You know what? That was to buy time. Okay? That’s all it was, to buy time,” says Schierman.

Schierman also admitted he never had hole-in-one insurance, not in Minnesota, not in Florida, but says no one ever asked. He also acknowledged that Andrew aced the hole at Majestic Oaks and that he had every intention of paying…eventually.

“What I understand is that this all kind of snowballed on you. Is that fair enough to say?” we ask. “Amen. You know what? What I told you earlier is true. When I talked to my mother and she said you screwed up. If you would have told them at any point, give me until October 15, maybe they wouldn’t have gone to the press,” said Schierman.

Why October 15th? He wouldn’t say. We asked John Schierman to do an on-camera interview and he agreed, but when the time came Tuesday morning, he didn’t show.

We called to remind him and he responded with a text saying he had gotten a new job, that he forgot to call and that maybe he would do the interview in a couple weeks.
